Output feedback stabilizability of MIMO linear systems is investigated using N-D polynomial matrix theory. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived in terms of the generating polynomials associated with a matrix fraction description of the system. The constructive method of designing stabilizing compensators is provided. The analysis is illustrated by a nontrivial example.
