    We consider the title problem in an adiabatic case. A unified system of governing equations is employed that includes as particular cases the field equations of conventional, Lord-Shulman, and Green-Lindsay thermoelasticity theories. Exact expressions for the temperature, displacement and stress fields are obtained. Additionally, we derive solutions valid in the quasi-static case and in the case of small frequency. Some numerical results applicable to a steel-like material are presented.
