The author deals with scalar first-order differential equations with delay of the form \[ \dot x(t)+\lambda x(t)+f(t, x(t-\tau_1),\dots, x(t-\tau_m))=0 \] with positive constants \(\lambda, \tau_1, \dots, \tau_m\). Under some restrictions, explicit stability conditions are established. In the linear case they supplement the well-known \(3/2\)-theorem of Yoneyama.
