The well-posedness of a system of operator equations is discussed. A particular case of an operator equation of the type considered is a nonlinear two-level operator-difference scheme. A well-posedness theorem is proven and applied to investigate solvability and convergence of difference schemes for the two-dimensional hydrodynamic equations in Lagrangian coordinates.
