The paper considers an isotropic thin shell of constant thickness in three-dimensional Euclidean space. I. N. Vekua obtained in a vector form a finite system of equilibrium equations for the shell in curvilinear coordinates connected with its middle surface. Subject to specific conditions formulated in the paper, the author finds a general solution to these equations.
