We present the results of systematic numerical investigations of translational nonequilibrium in a shock front. A time-dependent method of statistical simulation is used. We consider model gases with a low molecular weight containing two heavy admixtures, and determine the conditions under which in the wave front the relative-velocity distribution function of pairs consisting simultaneoulsy of molecules of both admixtures is many times higher than the corresponding equilibrium values behind the shock \((10^4-10^{11})\). This effect is observed on the range of high relative velocities. The results of calculations are presented for a mixture having the same component molecular parameters as a mixture of He, \(\text{O}_2\), and Xe and satisfying the above conditions.
