Let \((X,d)\) and \((Y,\rho)\) be complete metric spaces, \(T:X\to Y\) a continuous operator and \(S:Y\to X\) an operator. The authors give some metric conditions which imply that \(ST\) and \(TS\) have a unique fixed point. No relevant examples are given and no applications are suggested.
