The paper is concerned with monotone iteration methods for finite difference discretizations of time-dependent reaction-diffusion-convection equations. Starting from a pair of comparison functions, various monotone iteration schemes and conditions for their convergence are investigated. Numerical applications to a chemical engineering problem illustrate the methods.
