From author's summary: We consider the propagation of perturbations in a density-stratified compressible fluid. The dimensionless equations contain a small parameter multiplying the vertical acceleration term. A special numerical method is developed for simulating propagation of internal gravity waves over long periods of time. Disintegration of internal gravity waves into solitons is analyzed together with various regularizations of fluid-dynamics equations.
