The authors propose formulas for partial inversion of a singular Cauchy integral defined on a finite set of bounded intervals. The convergence of a sequence of approximate solutions is analyzed. The convergence of the method of partial operator inversion is compared with that of a direct projection scheme applied to the integral equation of the first kind.
