The authors examine the construction of a solution (integral curve) to the Cauchy problem for a delay differential equation of neutral type from the viewpoint of the continuation method. Theoretical estimates and numerical experiments demonstrate the computational efficiency of the continuation method in the numerical integration by first- and second-order Runge-Kutta methods adapted for problems of this kind.
