The paper deals with an optimal boundary control problem for the Navier- Stokes equations describing a steady homogeneous inviscid incompressible flow. The total pressure on a portion \(\Gamma_1\) of the flow boundary is used as a control. The velocity components tangent to \(\Gamma_1\) are assumed to vanish on \(\Gamma_1\), and the o-slip condition is set on the remaining boundary. It is shown that the solution to this problem can be approximated by solutions to optimal control problems for the Stokes system.
