The authors propose a method for constructing upper and lower bounds of the solution to an operator equation with a monotonically decomposable operator. A method for constructing such monotone approximations and a rather simple technique for improving their convergence rate are proposed. Under additional assumptions, an estimate for the improved convergence rate is obtained. A method for constructing initial approximations for sertain classes of problems is described.
