A quite active area of study in Finsler geometry relates to the properties of Finsler manifolds with positive constant flag curvature. This paper considers the case of a ``reversible'' metric function \((F(-y)=F(y)),\) which excludes the Randers metrics. However, a condition of vanishing mean tangent curvature is introduced which includes Berwald metrics. Some applications to certain maximum theorems are given.
