The authors present a new technique for the generation of error equi-distributing meshes that satisfy both local quasi-uniformity and a minimal mesh spacing. It is done for the 1D case and then extended to 2D by generalizing tensor product methods. A better accuracy in approximation using interpolatory radial basis functions was achieved. Moreover, an improved accuracy in numerical results is obtained when the interpolatory strategy is applied to the dual reciprocity boundary element method for solving a class of linear and nonhomogeneous partial differential equations.
