The authors study the class of the so-called weakly shod algebras, which are defined as those algebras, for which there exists a positive integer \(N\) such that any path of non-zero non-isomorphisms from an indecomposable injective module to an indecomposable projective module has length at most \(N\). It is shown that such algebras are iterations of one-point extensions starting at a product of tilted algebras. As a consequence the authors obtain a description of the Auslander-Reiten quivers for weakly shod algebras.
