The paper describes contributions of Reinhold Baer and his school to the field of finite geometries. Of course there is a vast range of such and so the author chooses to present some details only from the followings areas: Baer subplanes and Baer involutions; polarities and dualities; \((C,a)\)-transitivity and \((C,a)\)-homogeneity of projective planes; partitions; projective planes of Lenz type III; inversive planes. In all, it is a short and comprehensive survey indicating the influence of Baer and his school.
