On the quadrupole magnetic polarizability and variational principles (Q1403347)

The author introduces a new concept of quadrupole polarization of magnetic particles. This article contains a proof of the statement that there is at least one point of state equilibrium in a nonsingular quadrupole magnetic field. It is notable that there is a similar way of introducing the concept of magnetic polarization ability for higher grades. The example of an anisotropic sphere is given.
