The paper gives the derivation for either axially symmetric or stationary perturbations of charged rotating black holes (Kerr-Newmann black holes). The gravitational and electromagnetic perturbations have to obey a pair of simple wave equations. Technically this is done by using a reduced Newman-Penrose formalism.
