The authors estimate the influence of some mechanisms of heterogeneous catalysis in dissociated carbon dioxide on the surface of a glass-like coating of heat-protective materials. They are a physical adsorption and the Langmuir-Hinshelwood reaction with participation of physically and chemically adsorbed particles as well as a heterogeneous recombination of carbon atoms. The estimates are obtained in terms of some data found in the literature for the velocity constants of these proces ses by means of comparison with the experimental data.
