Rolling a wheel with a pneumatic tire (Q1406428)

The author proposes a model of pneumatics and considers the rolling of a wheel in a vertical plane without slipping under the forces and momentum applied to the wheel disk. The contact of the tire and the way occurs on the segment the length and location of which is determined while solving the problem. The stationary regime of rolling with constant velocity is studied and the form of free pneumatic surface and the contact zone are specified. The resistance to rolling is determined with regard to the dissipative forces model.
