The authors obtain an equation specifying the critical radius of a particle heated up to a prescribed temperature causing the ignition of the fuel gas mixture. The equation is verified for small differences between the temperatures of the particle surface and the domain remote from the particle with regard to the terms of the order of the Péclet number \((\text{ Pe}\leq 1)\) and without regard to the terms of the order of Pe in case of essential temperature differences. The obtained results are applied to calculate the critical radius of a heated spherical particle igniting the hydrogen and air mixture for the prescribed parameter values.
