The paper is supposed to continue the study of inequalities for the first and second local moduli of continuity of a continuously differentiable function and its higher order derivatives by \textit{G. A. Anastassiou} [Appl. Math. Lett. 12, No. 4, 7-12 (1999; Zbl 0938.26007)]. The author aims to define a generalization of a local modulus of continuity, the definition is unclear. The proof of the main theorem is false at least in the form given in the paper.
