Obstructions to slant immersions in contact manifolds (Q1409666)

A submanifold \(M\) of a metric almost contact manifold \((\widetilde M, \phi, \xi , \eta , g)\) is called \textit{slant} if the angle between a vector \(\phi X\) and \(T_pM\) is the same for all \(X\in T_pM\) and \(p\in M\). In this paper: (i) existence of a canonical cohomology class in H\(^1 (M)\) is established for some slant submanifolds \(M\) of Sasakian space forms; (ii) a number of geometric and topological obstructions to existence of slant immersions into some Sasakian space forms is provided.
