Source identification for parabolic equations (Q1411650)

The authors treat an inverse problem of source identification in systems modeled by partial differential equations of parabolic type. The approach developed here is based on estimation theory for PDEs with bounded disturbances and Tikhonov regularization techniques. With an estimate for the state trajectory, the authors use an adaptive estimation method to reconstruct the source. The method is based on a generalization of a finite-dimensional Lyapunov design technique for systems with bounded disturbances. Numerical examples are considered.
