The aim of the paper is to find an explicit formula for the Ricci tensor on a free loop algebra of a compact Lie group \(G\) as well as an explicit lower bound for the tensor. The bounds are given in terms of Fourier series. In particular it follows from the first formula that the Ricci tensor is negatively defined except for finite-dimensional directions.
