The author discusses the problem of hierarchy in the brane world scenario models. He considers the 6D generalization of the Randall-Sundrum model compactified on \(S^1\) (with two branes of codimension-one) and its reductions to 5D and 4D. There is shown the way of computing the effective potential induced by massive bulk scalar fields non minimally coupled to curvature in a slice of AdS\(_6\). The size of additional space \(S^1\) is assumed to be smaller then the orbifold size. The analysis of the model is done using the moduli approximation. The author obtains the effective 4D gravity with two Brans-Dicke type scalar fields and moreover derives the couplings of each modulus to higher-dimensional matter located on the negative tension brane. The constraints for the dynamical moduli radiuses and fixed scales and the geometrical interpretation of the Planck/EW hierarchy are given in a separate section. The role of SUSY is pointed out as well. The work consists of five sections and two extensive appendices (evaluations of formulas for Dirichlet and von Neumann boundary conditions).
