The author gives an explicit construction of the Hopf algebra structure on the homology of the loop space of the exceptional Lie group \(E_6\). He does this by carrying out a program first formulated by R. Bott for a general 1-connected simple Lie group. This has already been done for several other groups, including \(G_2\) and \(F_4\). Full details are provided.
