The authors consider the following second order linear difference equation \[ \Delta^2x_{n-1}+p_nx_n=0, \quad n=0,1,2,\dots \tag \(*\) \] where \(\Delta x_n=x_{n+1}-x_n\) is the forward difference operator, \(\{p_n\}\) is a sequence of nonnegative real numbers. Several new sufficient conditions for the oscillation of (\(*\)) are obtained which improve some known results.
