At the Baton Rouge Conference (1967) on operator algebras, R. V. Kadison stated a list of twenty problems on von Neumann algebras. These famous problems have been extensively studied by many operator algebraists for thirty-seven years. In the paper under review, a very brief history of the attempts done for answering Kadison's problems is given. Furthermore, 17 problems in the theory of von Neumann algebras are merely stated. Unfortunately, this paper contains no reference list.
