These proceedings present up-to-date information on the latest developments, namely research results and experience in the broad fields of advanced manufacturing systems and technology. The book is divided into nine parts. The first part is devoted to the main trends in organizaton, development and manufacturing of different machining systems and processes. Also, an attention is paid to issues of management and key factors for successful industrial experiments. The second part considers machining process optimisation. A concrete attention is devoted to the processes of milling, drilling, turning, cutting and grinding. In this part both test results and model experiments are discussed. Part 3 presents machine tools and flexible manufacturing systems. Modelling and controlling of pointed systems, using computer technology together with creating of technological databases necessary for improvement of process planning, are stated in the center of this part. The next part considers issues concerning the forming processes. In particular, the processes of hot and cold rolling, hot forging and welding are modelled and discussed. Moreover, this part presents mechanical properties of different materials and constructions caused by the forming processes. Part 5 discusses nonconventional processes. In particular, the processes of burnishing, finishing, warpage, filament winding and also beam laser welding and abrasive waterjet cutting are considered. Advanced measurement and control systems are presented in part 6. The main attention is directed to robotic and computer systems for inspection of physical, geometrical and biomedical objects. The optimization problems of quality, design and ecodesign for different products and processes are discussed in part 7. In particular, advanced principles, criteria and standards are given. The issues of rapid prototyping, tooling and manufacturing are reflected in part 8. Experimental techniques and set-up, e.g. for lithography processing and laser sintering, are given in detail. In the final part the computer simulation methods to estimate the material mechanical behavior under different mechanical loading are depicted. The main numerical results present the properties of bulk and coated samples of complex geometry and microstructure.
