From the preface: The text is organized into a series of chapters providing the state-of-the-art in terms of: 1) a fundamental background on characteristics of transverse jet and related jet systems; 2) a fundamental background on modeling and dynamical systems control, with special focus on jet flows; 3) description of multiphase and/or reactive jet in crossflow studies; and 4) description of active controlled jets in crossflow and related jet systems. It is anticipated that this text will be a useful guide for researchers in fluid mechanics and/or in dynamical systems control. Recent technological advances in both fields have made the control of complex fluid flows a more practically reality, one that is ripe for further exploitation.
