From the text: The authors construct an exact solution of a two-dimensional problem of motion with homogeneous deformation. This nonstationary solution of equations of magnetohydrodynamics describes the time dependence of the transverse dimensions of a plasma filament of elliptic cross section when the external magnetic field changes.
