This paper deals with the identifiability of parameters leading to relationships between parameters and outputs. The authors analyze identifiability by using directly the differential algebraic relationships between outputs and parameters. Then these equations are used for identifying parameters by means of global or local optimization techniques. The reviewer does not understand why the technique of \S\,3.1 leads to a global minimum. Numerical examples (pharmacokinetics) are given.
