Electrodynamics of ultra-wideband short-pulse processes in irregular transmission lines (Q1420651)

The authors study applications of variational methods to solutions of non-stationary waveguide equations, taking as an example an irregular layer planar type waveguide. The magnetic field wave component is expanded over TEM and TM type modes. Thus, the derived system of non-stationary wave equations in matrix notations is considered with boundary and initial conditions. An expression for the energy density is presented.
