The paper is devoted to the projection-based reduction of generalized time-invariant control systems \(E\dot x= Ax+ Bu\), \(y= Cx +Du\). A connection is established between the Krylov subspace technique for multipoint Padé interpolation and the use of Sylvester matrix equations as well as with the Arnoldi-Lanczos type methods.
