Weakened Lie groups and their locally isometric completions. (Q1421964)

Motivated by such topics as the immersions of analytic groups, the authors consider weakened Lie groups (topological groups arising from weakening the topology of a Lie group). Even though such groups can be quite diverse and pathological, the authors show that a large class of weakened Lie groups are locally isometric, and that the same property holds for their completions. Other results include constructive procedures for and examples of such groups.
