This well-written book presents applications of fuzzy logic in the area of management. The book starts with a gentle introduction to management and decision support systems, which is followed by a chapter on the principles of fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic arithmetic. The authors then proceed to introduce the concepts of group decision support systems and consensus modeling using fuzzy logic. Chapter 4 follows, which deals with the area of real options of mathematical finance, and how fuzzy logic real options extend the standard Black-Scholes methodology for their valuation. Chapter 5 presents a summary of research work for the problem of reducing the bullwhip effect in supply chains, followed by a long chapter on applications of fuzzy logic to knowledge management (i.e., the collection, storage, management and transfer of knowledge). The book concludes with a chapter on applications of fuzzy logic to mobile technology, including how mobile technology can be supported with software agents.
