The authors consider the two-dimensional continuous casting problem in thermodynamically homogeneous and isotropic steel. The heat capacity and thermal conductivity are temperature dependent functions (mainly in piecewise form). It is presumed that the casting speed is the constant given in advance. A very assiduous and detailed numerical study of this problem is established and applied.
