The author considers an optimal control problem governed by an evolution hemivariational inequality of second order and with a Bolza-type functional. The existence of admissible pairs are guaranteed by a previous result on evolution hemivariational inequalities due to the author. The approach is based on the direct method of the calculus of variations.
