Compact representations of BL-algebras (Q1423632)

The authors remark that they apply methods developed in some papers by \textit{C. J. Mulvey} [cf., e.g., J. Algebra 52, 411--436 (1978; Zbl 0418.18009)]. In this paper they study completely regular and compact BL-sheaf spaces, and the compactness theorem is proved. It is shown that each compact representation of a BL-algebra can be obtained from a family of filters of the BL-algebra satisfying certain coditions. The authors investigate the functor from the category of compact local BL-sheaf spaces to the category of nontrivial BL-algebras, obtained by assigning to each BL-sheaf space the BL-algebra of global sections; it is proved that this functor gives an equivalence between these categories.
