The complex \((n\times n\))-matrix \(A\) is called accretive if the Hermitian matrix \(A+A^*\) is positive semidefinite. The author describes a canonical form of the accretive matrices with respect to the Hermitian congruences. This canonical form is a quasidiagonal matrix, i.e. it is a direct sum of \((1\times 1)\)- and \((2\times 2)\)-blocks.
