In the paper it is shown that the minimal discrepancy of hypersurface Brieskorn singularity \(X\) of dimension \(n\) is not larger that \(n-2\). If it exceeds \(n-3\), the general hyperplane cross-section \(X\) has a canonical singularity. The main technique for the proof is the choice of an appropriate toric resolution.
