This book provides a survey of algebraic methods that are important in the study of the structure of graded rings and their modules. Recent results and developments on graded ring theory are included. The authors include sections on the category of graded rings and graded modules, the structure of simple or injective objects in the category of graded modules, Green theory for strongly graded rings, graded Clifford theory which is a powerful instrument in the theory of graded rings, internal and external homogenization, smash products and related functors, localization theory of graded rings (the graded version of Goldie's theorem is given) and applications of gradability (the problem whether a nontrivial \(G\)-gradation on \(R\) can be introduced, where \(G\) is a group and \(R\) is a ring, is considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions for some positive results are given). In the book, all rings are assumed to be associative rings with identity.
