The authors study a class of HODIE finite difference schemes for solving singular perturbation problems for one-dimensional linear diffusion-convection problems. The method uses a nonuniform Shishkin mesh to concentrate points in the boundary layer. They prove uniform convergence with respect to the singular perturbation parameter and give some numerical examples.
