The authors consider a class of linear neutral delay-differential systems. Using the Lyapunov functional technique combined with a linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, they develop a robust \(H_\infty\) filter for this system, which makes the closed-loop system asymptotically stable and the bound of \(H_\infty\) norm minimized. A stability criterion and the existence of the filter are derived in terms of LMIs, and their solutions provide a parametrized representation of the filter. It is emphasized that such LMIs can be easily solved by various efficient convex optimization algorithms. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed design method.
