The author studies a reaction-diffusion problem with inhomogeneous forcing term and a small diffusion coefficient, in both one- and two-dimensional space domains. Using an asymptotic expansion method, he constructs an approximate interfacial solution describing the formation of interfaces between the steady states and how these interfaces move. Numerical solutions that agree with the asymptotic results are also obtained.
