The author considers single-electron tunneling through quantum dots. Various regimes of electron transport through a blockaded dot are discussed. The Hamiltonian for the quantum dot is constructed, and the constant interaction model is introduced. Using this model, the processes of elastic and inelastic co-tunneling are described. The conditions for observing the Kondo effect are investigated.
