This paper contributes to the theory of two-dimensional digital filtering by means of pseudorotated filter structures. It starts with a one-dimensional transfer function which is cascaded from elementary first- and second order terms. By substituting the variable \(z\) by a function of \(z_1\) and \(z_2\), corresponding first- and second order two-dimensional terms are obtained. It is presented how to realize these filters by means of generalized immittance converters (GIC) and the corresponding adapter modules. Because there are different types of GIC and adaptors, four different GIC pseudorotated filter structures can be obtained for the first- and the second-order terms. The results seem to be interesting for VLSI implementation.
