This paper deals with the heat transfer that occurs in such regions, and in particular within the peripheral layer alonside the vertical grain store wall, where there occur considerable diurnal temperature fluctuations. The two-stage transfer model is adopted from \textit{A. McNabb} [Factorizable `Fruit Cake' boundary value problems, N. Z. Math. Soc., Suppl. Newsletter No. 12, 9--18 (1978) (per biblio.)] in order to solve the problem of heat transfer in a grain store. Laplace transforms are used to find a semi-analytical solution to the model. Approximate analytical solutions are obtained for the inverse Laplace transforms for small and large time.
